Announcing the new releases of our much anticipated 2007 Rosé of Pinot Noir and our 2006 Zinfandel-St. Peter of Alcantara, as well as "last call" for our 2005 Petite Sirah!

  • Our 2007 Rosé of Pinot Noir is a beautifully fresh and floral dry rosé from the Fiddlestix and Bien Nacido Vineyards, showing cherry, strawberry, violets and a hint of spice. With only 56 cases produced and 14 of those already on their way to Georgia, consider this your first and potentially last call.

  • Our 2006 Zinfandel-St. Peter of Alcantara is richer and darker than the 2005, with smokey overtones, black plum, currant and spice. Steffanie calls it "brooding..."

June 23, 2008 | Anglim Earns Gold

Anglim earned gold medals for our 2005 Zinfandel and 2005 Grenache at the 2008 San Francisco International Wine Competition, one of the largest and most prestigious competitions held.  Thank you, judges!

 

April 12, 2008 | Winemaker's Club Spring 2008 Release

The Spring 2008 Winemaker's Club package will begin shipping next week, April 14th.  The package includes:

January 20, 2008 | San Francisco Chronicle Honors

Seems that Mr. Laube stumbled upon our Anglim 2005 Roussanne at the Carneros Inn in Napa, noting:  "This was my first introduction to this rich, spicy ginger- and citrus-laced wine, and it was one of the best I've had."  We're of course pleased that he liked it...

March 14, 2007 | Anglim Previews First Zinfandel

Anglim will preview barrel samples of its first production Zinfandel this weekend in conjunction with the Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival.  Winemaker Steve Anglim will be pouring barrel samples of three blends, and allowing visitors to vote for their favorite.  One lucky voter will win a free case of the final blend. 

 

Taste the new Zin and other Anglim offerings at their downtown tasting room (8th and Pine Streets), and at the Zinfandel Festival Grand Tasting.

Anglim Winery spent a week in San Diego in conjunction with the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival, doing everything from tastings to cooking seminars and delicious winemaker dinners. October 31, 2006 | Roussanne Scores 90

The 2005 Anglim Roussanne received a very nice review from Anthony Dias Blue in Patterson's Beverage Journal (October 2006), scoring 90 points.

 

September 26, 2006 | IWR Praises Anglim Syrahs

The International Wine Review gave high marks to all three Anglim syrahs.  The 2003 Syrah - Fralich Vyd. received a score of 89 points, and was described as a "light-bodied offering of ripe red currant fruit and savory spices."  The 2003 Syrah - French Camp Vyd. (88 pts.) was recognized for it "sweet blueberry and blackberry bouquet...richly textured mouth feel...and smoky oak nuances on the finish."  The 2003 Reserve Syrah - Best Barrel Blend scored 90 points for its "medium-bodied palate of lovely black and cassis fruits, notes of pepper and vanilla bean, outstanding balance and a solid finish."  For the full review, and a terrific discussion of California syrah, see:  International Wine Review Report #4 Syrah: California and the Northwest-Red, Hot and Cool. July 17, 2006 | Two Anglim Wines in Top 20

805 Living's tasting panel selected not one but two Anglim wines as part of their Top 20.  The Anglim 2004 Roussanne was described as "elegant and balanced."  Of the 2003 Reserve Syrah - Best Barrel Blend, they said:  "...this full-bodied red is 'balanced with a hint of chocolate.' It also features a nice long finish.  Drink it now.  Drink it later.  Doesn't really matter because it'll only get better with time."  For the full article, see the June 2006 issue of 805 Living, page 110.

 

June 30, 2006 | Gourmet Magazine Praises Anglim Roussanne

Described as "both discreet and exquisite" the 2004 Anglim Roussanne was among a small group of wines recommended for pairing with Gourmet's Simply Seasonal Menu of grilled salmon (Gourmet, July 2006, pg. 68).  Thank you to Gerald Asher and all the folks at Gourmet!

 

June 7, 2006 | Anglim Reserve Syrah Wins Critics Platinum!

Anglim Winery's 2003 Syrah - Best Barrel Blend Reserve was awarded a Critics Platinum in the 2006 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition.  Judge Leslie Sbrocco described the wine as "Red hot Syrah!  Old-world elegance with earthy complexity, a peppery kick and fresh red berry fruit notes."  Thank you, Leslie, and all the judges at Critics Challenge!

 

Other Anglim Wines were also honored, including:  2003 Grenache - Critics Platinum (sold out); 2003 Syrah - French Camp Vineyard - Critics Gold.

 

May 20, 2006 | Anglim Wine Festival is a Family Affair

As in year's past, Paso Robles Wine Festival weekend was truly a family affair at Anglim Winery.  Steffanie's family flew in from literally all over the country to pour wine in the park and at the tasting room.  After a raucous Winemaker dinner Friday night, the crew work long and hard Saturday showcasing Anglim wines to both new and returning customers.  Special thanks to Mom & Dad, Kevin & Shanacee, Peter & Teresa, Penny, and Chris for their hard work and great company!

 

May 15, 2006 | Anglim Scores Double Gold!

Anglim's 2003 Syrah - Best Barrel Blend Reserve was awarded a Double Gold medal at Vineyard & Winery Management magazine's West Coast Wine Competition.  With a field of over 1,680 entries from California to Australia, the judges awarded a total of 33 Double Gold, 160 Gold, 507 Silver, and 426 Bronze medals.  Three other Anglim wines also received honors.
